Started to use linkedin in connect with other designers in leeds as well as looking for jobs in the area. 

Getting a workplacment

Above are emails in corresponces with clare from george home about a workplace for 2 weeks. I heard about clare from a talk in university that i attended about recruting creative graduates and i found it very inspiring so i wanted to see if i could get a chance to work with her and her team. I was successful with getting a placement and start the 26th of march for 2 weeks.

Tate Liverpool Gallery Visit

In February I visited the Tate in Liverpool and saw exhibitions from John Piper, Patrick Kelley and Mary Reif Kelley as well as Roy Lichtenstein. The exhibition that I found most relevant to my practice was Roy Lichtenstein because he uses to be one of my favorite artists and I use to work in a similar style but now my work has evolved into a modernist style rather than a pop art style. Overall I didn’t enjoy my visit to Liverpool as much as I did in Manchester because I feel the art and design work that is been displayed in Liverpool is not as relevant to my practice as compared to work in Leeds and Manchester.

Email

When I contacted practitioners via email I felt that my email address wasn't that professional and that I had previously heard that practitioners often do not reply to an email address if the address doesn't look trusty.  Although my email address at the time wasn't bad they only replied because of the relevant subject matter to there practice. Now because of this, I have set my self up a more professional email address however I do not pay for a better service because currently, I can't afford to have an email address that comes from a private server because to do so I have to pay additional fees on top of having a private domain website.
