Through completing this model i feel that it has improved my practice as well as opening up my options. At the start of the year i intended to improve my submissions as i have started to use mockups for my work but i have also improved my typography skills by completing responsive projects and really concentrating on it in all my briefs. I found that attending exhibitions and my trip to manchester really opened my mind to future possibilities as well as influencing my work.
A key part to my learning this year was Studio Brief 2, from my interview i considered a lot of things and also what want to get from my final year of my degree, as well as making a contact. I gain confidence in myself when talking to professionals by emailing archipelago which i was nervous about at first. When they are less busy with exhibitions and event i intend to get back in touch and ask for a studio visit.
This model has definitely improved my practice as perviously i did not go to many exhibition or opening event but i have found that they are very beneficial as you get to talk to other designers and create many different contacts. At the start of the year i was reluctant to put my work out there and restricted myself just to instagram. I have since made myself a behance have gained the confidence to keep up to date with uploading work. Although the responses are slow it has not knocked my confidence as i know that not everyone will like the work.
From my experience on this model i have found that i still do not know where i stand in the graphic design field, as i do not have a specific specialist skill but have skills in many different fields. I know that currently i stand as a vernal graphic design, and over the summer and into level 6 i hope to find if that is were i will stay or if one specific filed of graphic design is my strength.
