Logo research

When designing my logo i wanted to in mind to way that i wanted to portray myself and who i would be identified by it. When thinking about this i decided that my design would have to be in  geometric style to reflect how i work but also in a limited colour pallet as in my designs i only use a select few colours. After deciding this i started to do some research looking at other logos that were in a geometric style to gather inspiration .

Research

All the above logos use a colour pallet that is limited to 2 colours, including the background, all the designs include or the shapes represent text that is the person/companies name which is important to the design of small starting out people/companies as just using a symbol would be unrecognisable people that are just starting out. This is where symbols incorporated into the design work better as later on when the person/company is established the branding can be simplified just to the symbol.

Above are four logos that i thought represented the company very well with their creative and colourful design. Creating a logo that is as colourful and detailed as the above designs would limit where i could apply my logo as i would link to use traditional methods to create things like business cards and flyer, which i would not be able to do with designs like these and there would be many different screens needed to layer the colours.

From doing this research i have decided that i am going to create a logo that includes my initials, and stating the style of design that i do. Te design will also be a maximum of two colours black + one other colour as black is the main colour that i used to create my work. The shape of the design will also have to be easily transferable to be printed in a traditional way as well as work digitally.
